We begin our day from Argostoli in the south of the island and make our way through the mountains to the east coast, to reach the truly beautiful & mythical “Melissani” cave lake. Into the cave a small boat takes us for a ride around the lake to admire the stunning colours of the waters.
The next stop is at the impressive “Drogarati” Cave, where you can admire the formations of stalactites & stalagmites created during thousands of years. On the entrance area there is a gift shop and a small café to enjoy treats before we set off to move north towards the village of “Assos”.
Passing through all-green landscapes, we arrive to the small peninsula where the captivating “Assos” village is situated. There, we have plenty of time to wander around this picturesque village, admire the old fortress's ruins located on top of the small hill, have a tasty meal or have a coffee to the little tavernas & cafes and perhaps even swim in the sparkling aquamarine waters of the pebbly bay.
After our great time in “Assos”, we head towards another top notch destination.
Within a 30’ drive, we arrive to the cosmopolitan port & village of Fiscardo. Spending some time there, we admire the traditional architecture preserved throughout the years, have a tea or coffee to one of the many little cafés spread along the waterfront, take photographs and perhaps do some shopping.
Finally we are leaving Fiscardo and make our way back, but not before we make one last brief stop at “Myrtos” Beach, one of the most beautiful & famous beaches in the world to take photographs of the breathtaking scenery.
