Zante Cruise
Join us to our great itineraries
Starting point: Skala village
Our cruise starts in the morning from the village of “Skala”. In about 40 minutes we reach cape “Skinari” with the homonymous light house - visible from some parts of the southern Kefalonia shores at night. This is the closest point between Zante and Kefalonia (distance of 8km from Katelios village).
From the cape "Skinari" south to the famous "Shipwreck" beach, the coastline is rocky, steep, and truly impressive.
"Shipwreck" beach is known worldwide and is almost synonymous to “Zante” island. It is an impressive tourist attraction, with crystal blue waters caressing this beautiful beach that shelters the semi-covered remains of a ship. The breath-taking escarpment in the background completes this majestic scene.
After our time to the “Shipwreck” beach, we board our ship again and head towards the “Blue caves”. About half way there, we can see the remains of a fortress wall. About 1100 years ago, St. Andrews monastery was built there but nowadays, the only thing remaining are the buildings’ ruins and the fortress walls that protected it from the pirates.
Downhill from these walls, towards the sea level, there is a strange cave with stalactites and its depth is about 70m. In this area as well as near the lighthouse, we can very often spot seals & sea-lions.
Reaching the "Blue Caves", we make our second stop of the day to marvel the impressive landscape. These caves were carved by the wild waves that whip the irregular coastlines through the centuries and they get their unique colours from the seabed formation.
The crystal blue waters invite us to take a dive in and enjoy ourselves! We can dive directly off the boat to the deep water or take the fun option & use the ship's water slide.
Later on, we start again with destination to "Alykanas" beach where we'll make our last stop. "Ayikanas", is a small picturesque village with a sandy beach, water sports activities and restaurants. There, we stay for about 2 hours and we can spend our time at the beach or having a delicious meal.
Once our time in “Alykanas” is up, we board our boat once again for our trip back to Skala.
